Patrolman Vince Cronin was named the departments Officer of the Year recently during the departments annual meeting. The award is given to one officer each year who exemplifies outstanding performance and dedication of service to the community. The Officer of the Year is primarily chosen by his/her peers which again makes it an even more special recognition.     

Patrolman Cronin started as a special police officer in 1996 before moving to a full-time position in 1999. He is currently one of the departments Traffic Crash Investigation Reconstructionists, and was instrumental locating an arson suspect who had burned several garages and cars in the city.

Also this years Civilian Employee of the Year goes to Auxiliary Police Officer Andy Allen. Aux. Allen was instrumental in coordinating a Christmas gift drive for underpriveledged families in the Eastlake area. He also assists in the departments Juvenile Diversion program along with serving as a Willowick City councilman.

The Eastlake Police Department is proud to have both of these officers serving the community of Eastlake.
